SanctuaryIAM Joins as a Fiscally-Sponsored Program

Build Missouri Health is proud to welcome SanctuaryIAM as a new fiscally-sponsored program.

SanctuaryIAM is a mission-driven social enterprise specializing in wellness interior design, working at the intersection of health, environment, and equity.Through its Community Impact Initiative, SanctuaryIAM creates evidence-based, health-centered spaces that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being for individuals and communities that have historically lacked access to this kind of design support.

Led by Kelli Braggs, MDiv, MSW, SanctuaryIAM is built on more than 20 years of her cross-sector leadership in holistic wellness, social work, and community-based systems and development. The company applies this foundation through wellness interior design, grounded in research showing that the built environment directly impacts stress levels, healing outcomes, cognitive function, mood, and overall quality of life. Thoughtful design elements such as lighting, color, layout, and comfort help create spaces that support healing, stability, and dignity.
“SanctuaryIAM is a strong example of how innovative ideas can improve health in ways people may not always expect. We’re proud to support work that recognizes the environment as a key part of health equity and uses evidence-based design to create spaces where people can thrive.”

 — Jasmine Hall Ratliff, Executive Director, Build Missouri Health

Current SanctuaryIAM initiatives include:

Petite Retreats for First-Time Homebuyers (in partnership with St. Joseph Housing Initiative)
  • Transforming key living spaces into supportive, restorative environments for new homeowners, helping foster stability, pride, and long-term success in homeownership.

Wellness Rooms in Underserved Schools
  • Designing Dedicated spaces for students and staff that support decompression, focus, and emotional regulation, contributing to stronger well-being, behavior, and learning outcomes.

Transitional Housing & Medical Respite (in partnership with Three Steps Home)
  • Creating healing-centered environments for individuals experiencing homelessness who are recovering from illness or medical procedures, supporting recovery, dignity, and successful transitions into stable housing.

Through fiscal sponsorship with Build Missouri Health, SanctuaryIAM can access charitable funding to expand this work and bring evidence-based environments that help people live, heal, and thrive to more communities across Missouri.
“We know that the built environment is a powerful driver of health and a recognized social determinant of well-being. The spaces where people live, recover, learn, and rest can either add stress or support healing. We feel fortunate to be supported by a partner like Build Missouri Health, whose commitment to health equity helps validate this work. This partnership allows us to bring evidence-based, wellness-centered design to communities where people can decompress, heal, and be inspired.”

 — Kelli Braggs, MDiv, MSW, Founder & CEO, SanctuaryIAM
SanctuaryIAM works with schools and nonprofits to bring the power of healing environments to people, building calm and restoration into their experiences.
At Build Missouri Health, fiscal sponsorship helps emerging organizations and initiatives access funding, build momentum, and focus on the work they do best. We’re excited to come alongside SanctuaryIAM as this important work grows.
